I take back every mean thing I’ve ever said about…

Barney.  Cupcake was over visiting a while ago and we watched Barney.  Monkey watched a video of kids riding bikes with a furrowed brow and then he walked over to his bike (which he has repeatedly tried to get us to remove from his sight,) signed “bike” and said “on.”

You could have blown knocked me over with a feather.  I’m amazed by how well he does considering he has not ever done this at home before (he has ridden a trike in the hall at school.)

That is FANTASTIC!! He does really well and his coordinated seems to be doing just fine. Just wait till the snow melts and we can go outside for a bike ride.

I totally expected him to be riding into walls, I cannot believe he can steer.

We’re going to have to get a bigger bike, he’s ignored this one so long that he’s too big for it, lol. I took it down to the basement last night to clean it up (it had cobwebs in the spokes!) and ended up stealing Duhdee’s car supplies to polish it. He approved, he was sniffing his handlebars, lol. But he won’t ride it in the basement so far which is too bad because there is more space down there.

Now I need to convince him to wear a helmet too…that should be fun.

He will have to see Duhdee and Umma wearing their helmets and riding their bikes when they go outside. Need another show that shows kids on bikes with helmets on.

The kids were wearing helmets, we just don’t have one for him. He outgrew it *ages* ago.

Umma and Duhdee need BIKES and helmets to wear, lol. I don’t know that I’m brave enough to take him anywhere on a bike yet anyway. The sidewalks in this neighborhood are all but impassable because of the tree roots…and Fresh Pond is way too ambitious. We’ll probably go to the secret playground for a while and work on strength building and safety.
