Santa gifted Duhdee and I with a cast iron bread pan this year so today Monkey and I decided to break it in. We made a loaf of this bread. Oh, my. I highly recommend this recipe for anyone who wants to bake some homemade bread.
It was an absolutely gorgeous loaf and I fully intended to take a picture but I didn’t have the patience. Monkey even ate the crust…he’s been rejecting bread crusts for the last month or so. I take that as a sign that he approves. 🙂
I love homemade bread–it makes the best toast! My mom has always made it. Recently, she has been making some that is a combination of wheat and rye…yum!
This was the first loaf of bread (besides banana or zucchini) that I’ve ever made so I kept it simple. I stayed up a bit late to make the alternate version (omitting the raisins) which was good but I need to find a better cinnamon swirl filling.
Any chance mom would share her recipe? I’d like to make some healthier breads.
